Name: Carlos Estrada
Position: Events & Management Assistant
Where From: Mexico
Base: Barcelona | London

Carlos was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. He spent most of his youth going out to different clubs in the city, attending also several gigs at a very young age, his passion for it lead him to start working as a PR for different kind of electronic music events at different agencies promoting artists such as Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Desyn Masiello, James Zabiela, Satoshie Tomiie, M.A.N.D.Y and more.
At the end of 2011, at 19 years of age he moved to London.
He stopped working at events and nightclubs, but the hunger and excitement of listening to new music never stopped. Having finally the opportunity to see artists week in, week out that were on his radar for some time and also discovering many new ones, it was definitely an important step for him. Being a regular at fabric since those early days and subsequently Toi Toi for the last half of the decade, helped him develop a better understanding and obtain an amplified knowledge of different genres in electronic music, hanging out with and meeting new people from the ever evolving London underground scene.

As a result of all this, in 2018 he became partner and programmer of a collective called “Waves” in London. Booking mainly local artists as well as established names such as Lamache, Zendid and more, also dealing with all the logistics and production for it.
The success of the party mentioned above, lead him to create his own imprint called “Ogenblik”, an electronic music brand focusing on long DJ sets on an intimate setting,
Pushing always the idea of letting the artists properly express themselves, - (more music, less names) - rather than booking several names for one single night just for the sake of attracting more people.
Having two well known names on the London scene as residents (Matteo Manzini and Timoti), helped this project come to light showcasing artists such as Digby, Christian AB, Thomas Melchior, DeWalta, Clovis, Sohrab, outransa (Nicky Macha & Kensa), Mariiin and Adi.

In 2024, Carlos joined Toi.Toi.Musik as a Events & Bookings Assistant to Isis Salvaterra. This came as part of a mentoring programme she initiated to train and pass on her experience and knowledge to the next generations.
